Saltwater fishing in Texas is well-known for its huge beef, big hair, and big wheel. It is certainly true what the pundits state, that everything is huge in Texas. As it is the greatest state in the lower 48 one would not anticipate anything more. Bigger isn't any much better, however if ones talking about saltwater fishing then it holds true. There are hardly any locations where you could find better or bigger than the Texas saltwater fishing. I've fished on the gulf side of the road at Fort Pickens for several years, and the majority of the time went house with as many fish as I cared to clean up. At the end of the strip where the rock jetties are, the fishing is constantly excellent. I prefer to fish on the Gulf side of the park however, where there are even less fishermen. This weekend there were more visitors to the beach fishing than usual, however still, the beach location at Fort Pickens was not crowded at all! I am always in wonder at how some people complain about having no money.. and yet seem to have a blind spot on what they spend money on. Luckily for Mr Zhong Shanshan (whom I bet you’ve never heard of!) there are enough blind spotters in the world to make him the 6th richest man in the world. How did that happen? Simple. He bet on people’s blind spot and sold them exactly what they never needed but suddenly though they did. Bottled water. Think about it. If you are 30 or over you still remember when you DIDNT see the need to buy bottled after. You drank water from your home tap. Then came the fear campaigns (and the chemicals!) that proved to you that water enclosed in a plastic sheath, and sold to you by a multinational was ‘better’. Yes, it may be better if it can be proven it is chemical free.. but the scores of cases already recorded of exposes of companies that just filled bottles with tap water makes that one hard to accept.
